Another vote for Smith...I use the Factor Max with interchangeable Lenses (Grey,Copper, Amber & Clear)..I like to change out to Copper on those really grey/flat skies ...The grey works great in High Sun..And the amber adds another 15 minutes visibility to the evening or in really dark skies...3 seasons and no complaints...Prior to those, I had another interchangeable lense model from H3O which I bought at the show...I liked them alot but I got too close to a customers backcast and they ended up in the drink...

well this was surprising - I figured I'd get numerous recommendations on a bunch of different brands/lens colors but from the replies so far it's pretty cut-n-dried. Now that everyone has replied I can report that I found the damn glasses. In a pouch in my fishing bag no less. Ahhhh, another senior moment.

Anyways, thanks everyone for replying. I did some googling and am debating picking up a pair of Smith glasses for regular use and take my current pair and save as a spare so I can again forget where I put them.
Best Wishes,
Steve

I have used many different shades in my 40 plus years of fly fishing. From the cheap Cool Rays to Orvis Aviators and they all worked great.
A few years ago I made the pilgrimage to the Cumberland Valley and fished the Letort with Ed Shenk. He showed me what he wore and I was sold, and still wear them . Fitovers, you wear them right over your prescription glasses. As Eperous says, If there good enough for Ed then there good enough for me.

Hi,
SolarShields make some great polarized sunglasses at reasonable prices including fit-overs in various sizes. I wear glasses, so I use the fit-overs. They block out light very well especially at the sides, which helps one see better. I prefer amber lenses because the amber color blocks out blue rays and heightens contrast.
